Press & Reviews from
NY Fringe Festival Production

The show features an atypically first-rate cast for a Fringe production, including Tony nominee Mark Baker as Toulouse Lautrec...Broadway veteran Nick Wyman as a sleazy emcee...and lead actor Kevin Kraft (using an admirable range of body language). - Frank Scheckhttp://www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=84714http://www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=84714http://www.nickwyman.com/home.htmhttp://www.nickwyman.com/home.htmFartisteFringePress_files/NY%20Post%20Fartiste%20Review.pdfshapeimage_3_link_0shapeimage_3_link_1shapeimage_3_link_2shapeimage_3_link_3

"C'est Manifique...in a self-possessed and winning performance, Kraft barely cracks a smile as he contorts his body to summon an extraordinary array of sounds, including explosive trumpeting and high-pitched squeaks. This combination of highbrow attitude with lowbrow physicality makes the show hilarious and endearing." - Amy KrivohlavekFartisteFringePress_files/offoffonline%20-%20off-off-Broadway%20reviews,%20listings,%20and%20more.pdf

"...the consummate skill of the cast—all of whom are uniformly excellent. But the evening undisputedly belongs to Kevin Kraft ... Kraft provides the hilarious contortions and earnest, unsmiling demeanor of Pujol -  Tim Cusack· NYTheatre.com (Click to read full review)FartisteFringePress_files/Archived%20Show%20Review.pdf

"...Kevin Kraft's Pujol, a combination of pride, pluck and naivete..."  - Edward  Karam

"...we've almost certainly not heard the last of The Fartiste (if Urinetown can hit the big time, so can this)." -Matthew Murray

"The Fartiste...is almost ready for prime time..." - Elizabeth Zimmer

"THE FARTISTE...one of 10 Fringe Picks. In recent years, [the Fringe Festival has] acted as a tryout for later runs on Broadway (Urinetown), Off-Broadway (Matt & Ben, Never Swim Alone) and beyond..."    - Leonard Jacobs

Recommended Performances: THE FARTISTE. For 10 years, the New York International Fringe Festival has been allowing theater companies and individuals to present new and original works to a diverse New York audience. "Urinetown" is the most famous success story, complete with a Broadway run but other smaller shows such as "Slut," "Confessions of a Mormon Boy" and "Carnival Knowledge" have all had successful Off-Broadway runs.- Michael Gutenplan

"...most buzzed about show..."  - Ward Morehouse III

The heart of the show, however, is the team of actor Kevin Kraft as Joseph Pujol and comedian Steven Scott...The result is the best comedy duo since Penn & Teller.

This production is so excellent...it could be a prime candidate for a long NYC commercial run.  - Hy Bender

“… virtues are Kraft's game efforts." - David FinkleFartisteFringePress_files/Theatremania%20Fartise%20Review.pdf

Nick Wyman, Mark Baker, Kevin Kraft, and the amazing Steven Scott, are top level performers...a Broadway-level show. I saw it at the Fringe, but this show...is too entertaining not to have a long run at a New York theater.
