Paris (1928) was only Cole Porter’s second book musical, and ran for 195 performances.  But since he was not yet an established songwriter, most of his songs in the 1928 production were replaced by songs from other more well-known composers at the time.

But now, 80 years later, not only is it being revived at Musicals Tonight, but all of Cole’s original songs are being put back in to the show, making this 2008 production the debut of Cole Porter’s Paris as it was originally written!  It is an hysterical farce about the engagement between an American “blueblood” and a Parisian actress, which is happily thwarted by true love.

Musicals Tonight! in its 11th YEAR & honored with an OBIE Award, is a not-for-profit theatre company in NYC primarily dedicated to concert staged-readying revivals of "neglected" musicals.http://www.musicalstonight.org/aboutus.htmlhttp://www.musicalstonight.org/http://www.musicalstonight.org/REVMUSICALSTONITMELMILLER.html#anchorvillagevoiceobiehttp://www.musicalstonight.org/shapeimage_4_link_0shapeimage_4_link_1shapeimage_4_link_2
